Electric Fireplace or Gas Fireplace?

I am renovating my home and want to buy a fireplace. But I am confused about electric and gas fireplace.
Please recommend me, which one is better and safer?

Both gas and electric fireplace are substitutes for traditional wood burning units. Gas fireplace was originally developed to avoid all the negative aspects of wood burning fireplaces and it do not produce byproducts like smoke and ashes as electric fireplace.

Some differences are that easy to install and use. Installation of electric fireplace requires about five minutes but the gas fireplace takes time to install. Another difference is that gas fireplace can be turned on even if you don’t have power.

Google will more clarify these differences. Check other websites for fireplaces. And according to your requirement choose one.
