Hi all! We are hoping to build a covered seating area against our boundary wall (which is 2m high). It would have a roof and 2 sides only, ie the one side facing into our garden would be completely open. Is this classed as an outbuilding? If so am I correct in thinking the roof can be 2.5m high as it will be right up against the boundary? Is it possible for the roof the have a higher apex, or not as it’s next to the boundary? Thank you!

It seems like you’re describing something that would resemble a carport in which the rules for outbuildings would apply. Therefore, any outbuilding within 2m of a boundary is limited to 2.5m high. Anything more would require Planning.
