Dear Diane,

If the extension has been built and you live within an area that permitted development rights have been removed, you may well have to seek retrospective planning permission in order to regularise the extension. This is a pain I know but in the end, it will help you when you come to sell your property as no doubt the purchaser's solicitor will otherwise be opicking this up through the searches. If as you say, no one is affected and the conservatory sits comfortably on the property, it is unlikely that permission will be refused. I hope this helps.
