New Driveway

Good morning,

is planning permission required to install a new driveway onto a c class road, even though it doesn’t cross any council land. our gardens meets the boundary so the verge and hedge is ours, we intend to install aco style drains with soak away within our garden avoiding drainage issues to the road, we will install gabian walls as retaining walls under 2m 9m away from road and under 1m around 4m away of the road, the driveway will be a new permeable gravel finish so will also allow adequate drainage. The frontage is approximately 70m so achieving the 22m splays at 2.2m are very achievable, any trees/hedges to be removed are our own.

the site is not listed and is also not in a conservation area. Everyone else has similar driveways in the village and would improve the current safety of us having to park across the road and crossing the road with our family.

Is there any reasons why this would require planning permission?

If I were to apply for planning permission what would the category be on the planning portal, It appeared unclear
