Shed on land adjacent to canal boat.

Hello,

I own the land adjacent to the canal and have built a shed on it (within the legal dimensions). I am now being told that you can only build a shed on land adjacent to a 'residential house'. Is this true? And does my canal boat that I live in fall under that definition?

Thankyou.

PD relates to land around the original dwelling house and therefore within its curtilage.

Thanks Damian,

There may have been a large dwelling house that owned the land historically. However there's no nearby houses. Do the PD rights define house?
