Lawful Development Certificate

I have a query regarding Lawful Development Certificates if someone could assist as I have never obtained one before.

Before starting work on a small kitchen extension to the rear using permitted development I would like to obtain a Lawful Development Certificate.

A few questions about applying for this LDC (because my property is currently rented out): -

- Do the council need to visit the property?

- Do they need access to the garden?

- Do they just turn up or make an appointment?

Thanks in advance

The process does usually involve a site visit. The Planning Officer would normally make an arrangement to visit, especially if the proposed development cannot be seen from any public view points.
