Hi, I’m after some advice. I have a Edwardian property which has 3 separate roof sections which are at different heights. I want to build a dormer on the back section which is the lowest roof section of the house. Can the dormer be higher than the roof at the back? Because it would still be lower than the front roof. Hope that makes sense. Thanks

Yes. Whether it would be considered Permitted Development would depend on it meeting the PD requirements.

Yes, sorry my question is would I need planning permission? Because the dormer would be higher than the roof section it’s built on. But lower than highest part of the roof on the house.

It should not exceed the highest part of the original/as-built roof. There are more PD requirements to meet, which you can review via the Planning Portal.
