Refusal

We bought this property some 15 years ago and extended it to the front and side that year

I wanted to put a conservatory or ideally a small day room to the back
But what I am being advised by local planning dept is that although it’s at the rear of the property and has no impact on any neighbours they advise that by adding the conservatory it would take more if the garden at the rear and as the extension built 15 years ago took a chunk of the garden measurements are taken from the old building boundary . Based on that planning would be refused as the conservatory would take up more if the rear garden ? As we have a patio the same size of the conservatory I feel that it makes little difference if the patio is covered or not . Is there anything else I can do to just at least put a conservatory there ?

Are the LPA therefore advising any further additions would be refused on the basis of the site being over developed?
