Will I need planning permission for the following :-
Double garage with pitch height of 2.5m to be put in front garden of NEW build bungalow, even though the actual front garden is off the main road, down a long drive, and is completely surrounded by others peoples back gardens. The New build bungalow is on land that was previously owned by one of the houses at the top of the long drive, so this land would have been a back garden previously.

Yes as any development forward of the principal elevation (apart from attached porches) require Planning.
There may also be some conditions or restrictions on development which formed part of the Planning approval for the new build dwelling.
