Conservation area demolition, planning?

Hi, I have a workshop attached to my residential property. It is timber construction, no external shell or insulation. The roof is made from corrugated plastic. Total cubic size is 132m3. The height is 2.6m (slightly sloping, lean-to style). It is visible from the road behind my garage and we live in a conservation area. It was granted planning permission in 1983. Do I need planning permission to remove it? As it is of non-standard construction and is un-inhabitable, I'm hoping it can be removed without the need for planning permission. Please bear in mind it is situated within a conservation area. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
