Conservatory

I wonder if you can advise me. I am thinking of purchasing a property that has a conservatory built in 2004. It did not have planning due to size etc however it is attached to the mains central heating, was this allowed back in 2004?

Nothing to do with Planning, but conservatories would be exempt from Building Regulations providing they meet the following criteria...

Unlike Planning, Building Control do not take enforcement action over unauthorised works. You could look to submit a Regularisation Certificate application for the works but this could open up a can of worms and may require certain elements to be exposed. As it has been there for so long, don’t worry about it.
