Max front fence height if garden is higher than path

I understand the max height is 1m for a fence facing a road but we are moving to a house where there is a stone boundary wall up to the height of the slightly elevated front garden. Would the 1m be in addition to the stone wall, so 1m above the height of the front garden itself/greater than 1m from the path?

Sorry if the questions are dumb and thanks for any help

It’s the overall height from ground level. Where there is a slight slope, which appears to be your case, the height is taken from the highest ‘natural’ point adjacent to the wall.

Thanks very much, so I assume that would be 1m from the highest point of the slope on the garden’s side of the boundary, as that would be adjacent to the fence and is higher than the path?

Sorry for the odd questions, we are trying to make sure we can prevent our adventurous toddler getting into the road when they play in the front.

Correct.
