We recieved a planning application from my next door neighbour today with the intent of changing their home into a corner shop. Will this get the go ahead? They are end of terrace. Blocks of 3 houses all down the street. Parking for 1 car only (but you know our drive will be blocked constantly if this gets the go ahead) so many things wrong with this I dont know where to begin or where I stand. I've put my complaint into the council. Is there anything else that I can do? Surely it would depreciate our house also? Let's be honest, who wants to live next door to a shop!!

If the LPA feel it complies with Local Plan policies, then approval could be granted. There are a few policies the change of use would need to meet for approval to be given. The more people object, the more change the decision will be taken to Committee, unless a Councillor calls for it to be taken to Committee sooner. I know I wouldn’t be too happy for a shop to open adjacent to my property of which it’s predominantly residential.
