Neighbours' existing extension breach?

I'm in the process of buying an old semi. The neighbour has an old 2 storey extension on the back of their property and this has 2 windows in the side, both of which look straight into the yard of my new house. I think the pair of semis used to belong to the same family so wasn't a problem for them. They also shared the double garage to my property, but they've put a door into it from their yard. Will they have needed permissions for the extension, the windows and the door into the garage? Is there anything I can do to object to it now, some years after it was done? Any help appreciated.
